What got you started with a career in financial services?
After a long career in a different industry, I found myself under-employed during the pandemic. Christina and I have been close friends for our entire adult lives. She approached me for help during a difficult time when the company was going through a major transition. Entering a new field has been quite a challenge; however, I enjoy learning and understand the importance of financial education and planning. I have been inspired by observing how our advisers guide clients through important financial concerns and at times, tough circumstances. I am touched by the care they demonstrate for our clients.
What motivates you to do your best every day?
I believe that everyone matters and needs healthy relationships. I am intentional about self-care, so I can be the best version of myself with others.
What is something you look forward to experiencing in the future?
To serve, in some capacity, our island’s growing population experiencing housing insecurity.
What is one thing you wish everyone knew about money?
I wish everyone would start an emergency fund and contribute to a company retirement account, especially if their employer provides a match.
What is a movie you enjoyed?
A movie I surprisingly enjoyed was Under the Boardwalk: The Monopoly Story (2010). I like origin stories. This documentary examined the roots of the board game Monopoly, which I played as a child. I was inspired to research some things they mentioned, like the real-life individual whom Mr. Monopoly was modeled upon. I gained a different perspective on what I thought was just a game.
